The Top 50 2022 Military Friendly® Employers Revealed

You probably have a battle buddy who heard it from a buddy’s buddy about that guy who got out on Friday and went to work on Monday as a civilian… For most people transitioning out of the military, finding a job is not that easy.

Because it’s hard to figure out where to begin your job search when you get out of the military, G.I. Jobs started publishing the Military Friendly Employers list. It’s been published every year since 2003.

What is a Military Friendly® Employer?

Military Friendly® is the standard that measures an organization’s commitment, effort, and success in creating sustainable and meaningful benefits for the military community. Over 1,500 organizations compete annually for Military Friendly® designation. Results are produced via a rules-based algorithm. The data-driven Military Friendly® lists and methodology can be found at https://www.militaryfriendly.com/mfcguide/.

Of the 1,500 organizations that took the survey, 315 companies earned a spot on the 2022 Military Friendly® Employers list. For them, every day is Veterans Day. Their investment in the military and veteran community is year-round, and the best practices they showcase in the recruiting, hiring, onboarding, and retention of military and veterans puts them in an elite class.

These employers recognize that veterans make their organizations stronger because of the soft and hard skills they offer: leadership, teamwork, professionalism, and a strong work ethic to name just a few.

Best of all, they offer careers for veterans in every imaginable industry. As you look for companies hiring veterans, keep these employers at the top of your job search list!

Why do these companies hire veterans?

Rich Williams, president of Combined Insurance said it best, “Veterans epitomize dedication, resilience, and selflessness and have a unique ability to bolster an organization’s growth and performance through astute decision-making and a quest for excellence.” Combined Insurance has been the No. 1 Military Friendly Employer in its category for six consecutive years.

This year, Humana earned the #1 Military Friendly ® Employer designation for the second year in a row. Bruce Broussard, president and chief executive officer of Humana said, “As a corporate leader in support of the military and veteran community, we began our Veteran Hiring Initiative with the goal of understanding the unique talents and qualifications of military veterans and their spouses, and how their experiences can help shape the way we deliver the highest quality of services to Humana beneficiaries. Since launching the initiative in 2011, we have hired more than 6,100 veterans and military spouses.”

What does Military Friendly® mean for a veteran?
