What do you do?

I help develop our company’s website utilizing Java Object Oriented programming, as well as maintain and upgrade existing applications and web content.

What’s the biggest challenge?

As a web development “rookie,” I am constantly introduced to new technologies and ways to problem-solve.

How did the military prepare you for your civilian job?

My military experience really taught me what it meant to persevere through adversity, and always find a way to get the job done. This sometimes meant staying and working on a problem all night, or being called in on my days off or at odd hours.

What advice would you give to military job seekers?

Remain positive and take advantage of the large network of resources aimed at helping veterans get back to work. Reach out to veteran recruiting agencies and your unemployment office to get connected with people dedicated to helping you succeed in today’s competitive job market.
