Zelda served 21 years of active military service with the US Army, where she held numerous leadership positions with a background in training, administration and program management. She retired as a First Sergeant in 2004 and pursued a second career as a federal government employee in 2005. Zelda went back to school and earned a Master of Science Degree in Administration with a concentration in Human Resources Management. She accepted a position with the Department of Veterans Affairs Veterans Benefits Administration (VBA) in June 2009. Zelda later accepted a position with the Veteran and Military Spouse Talent Engagement Program (VMSTEP) as a Management Analyst with emphasis on veteran outreach, advocating on behalf of veterans, transitioning service members and military spouses seeking employment in the VA.

Michael Owens is a National Recruiter for the Veterans Health Administration, specifically recruiting for interns for the Human Resources Specialist Training and Accelerated Readiness (HR STAR) and Health Professions Trainees (HPTs). He also serves as the host of VHA’s weekly career broadcast “Talk About It Tuesday” that airs each Tuesday at noon EST on LinkedIn. Mike served in the Army for 12 years and then joined the Air Force before retiring after 20 years of total service.

Mrs. Renetta (Rey) Bradford has been serving in the Department of Veterans Affairs since July 2013. She is currently the Director, Administrative Operations in the Office of the Secretary VA, providing guidance and consultation to the Department’s top officials: The Secretary VA, the Deputy Secretary VA, the Chief of Staff VA and other senior level staff. As the Director, she participates fully in planning, policy and decision-making actions and is relied upon to provide expert technical advice and counsel regarding matters that transcend human resources, budgetary. acquisitions, and IT. 

While assigned to the Office of Small and Disadvantage Business Utilization Office (OSDBU), Department of Veterans Affairs, she was the Acting, Shared Services Director. Rey was responsible for the planning, development, administration, plans, programs, policies in support of the OSDBU mission. As the Department of Veteran Affairs’ Veteran Employment Program Manager from 2017-2021, Rey was an advisor on legislation and policies that affect employment of Veterans in the Federal government. Rey is a lecturer, public speaker, and former talk show host of, “All Things Veteran,” a 30-minute Facebook live recording of topics such as Un-coding VA Acronyms & Terms Used on Job Opportunity Announcements, Knowing your Rights in the Workplace – A guide to the Disabled Veterans; and Federal Employment Opportunities. Rey is an Air Force Veteran who honorably separated in 1998. She has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Information Systems, is married and has four adult children.
