Darlene is a native of Southern Illinois. She graduated from the US Coast Guard Academy where she was on the Swim Team and Waterpolo Team. Her first tour was as a Deck Watch Officer on USCGC SHERMAN in Honolulu, HI. Following that she served at Vessel Traffic Service Houston-Galveston as a Watch Supervisor and Operations Officer. Darlene transitioned out of the service in Fall 2020 utilizing the Hiring Our Heroes Corporate Fellowship Program. She is currently a Talent Acquisition Partner & Military Program Lead at Oshkosh Corporation.

Sam is a former college baseball coach who became an executive recruiter in 2017. He started in the boutique executive search industry placing C-level executives and joined Ashley Furniture in 2021 supporting manufacturing, distribution, transportation, retail, and supply chain. He has led multiple recruiting teams at Ashley Furniture and is currently focused on senior leadership, programmatic hiring, and special projects across the Ashley umbrella of companies. Sam earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Ferrum College and a master’s degree in sports management from Georgia Southern University.
