Monique Ruiz

Monique is responsible for the administration, development and coordination of the DFPS MilVets program for the agency. She creates recruiting and retention initiatives for service members, veterans, and military spouses, and partners with organizations who provide them employment assistance and resources. Monique also provides education, guidance and support to their management and supervisors about the military community and all HR-related matters. She is an Army veteran.

Alex Verhulst

Alex Verhulst has over 15 years of talent acquisition experience within the government contracting industry. He currently serves as the Talent Acquisition Military Program Manager for Leidos’ Military Veteran Program (Operation MVP). The mission is to build veteran talent pipelines and increase the company’s presence as a preferred employer for transitioning military candidates. Leidos partners with military transition centers, military associations and veteran organizations to identify and hire separating and retiring military veterans. 

Previous to taking over their military program, Alex worked at Leidos as part of a talent identification and acquisition organization responsible for military, university, and diversity outreach, specializing in recruiting qualified professionals for customers across the intelligence community, Department of Defense, Homeland Security, federal law enforcement and healthcare agencies.

Kevin Wellendorf

Kevin is a 20-year Army veteran who served in various artillery units in Fort Sill and Fort Wainwright, Alaska, and as a recruiter in multiple leadership positions within the Nashville Recruiting Battalion, Atlanta Recruiting Battalion, Oklahoma City Recruiting Battalion, and 5th Recruiting Brigade. He served as the Center Commander for the Athens and Tullahoma Army Recruiting Centers. Additionally, he served as the Operations NCO for the Oklahoma Recruiting Battalion and 5th Recruiting Brigade.

Kevin earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Management from Post University in Waterbury, Conn. Kevin is married to Rachael and they have five children. Kevin joined the USAA team as a recruiter in 2016 after retiring from the Army. Kevin is currently the team lead for the Member Contact Internal Hiring team.

Nick Tran

Nick currently looks after Schlumberger’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) portfolio. In this role, Nick leads the organization’s Corporate Social Sustainability and Philanthropy efforts within the communities where Schlumberger operates. In addition to Nick’s contributions to Schlumberger’s CSR efforts, he is also a Diversity Equity & Inclusion (DE&I) trailblazer and has championed positive change for people of color, disabled people, the LGBTQ and veteran community. In his previous role as Head of Global Veterans Affairs & Programs, Nick helped Schlumberger win the coveted Military Friendly Employer Award for the first time in 2018 and again in 2019, 2020 and 2021. Additionally, Nick established Schlumberger as the first Fortune 500 organization in the oil and gas industry to have a National Apprenticeship Program with the Department of Labor (DOL). Nick is a US Army Veteran and served in several combat deployments, including Operation Desert Storm, Enduring Freedom, and Iraqi Freedom. Nick is a graduate of Harvard Business School’s Program for Leadership Development (PLD). Before that, Nick graduated from the Susanne M. Glasscock School of Continuing Studies Program for Professional Human Resource Development at Rice University and has a Bachelor of Science in Leadership (Magna Cum Laude) from Trident University in California.

William Pishotta

William joined Combined Insurance in 2017. He is responsible for managing and recruiting for Combined Insurance’s Military Program. He is also responsible for attracting, hiring, retaining and supporting veterans, military spouses and family member talent into the organization. William is passionate about helping veterans and military spouses transition into the civilian workforce and find meaningful and rewarding careers at Combined Insurance. He was recognized as a 2021 Veteran Champion of the Year (VCOY) in Corporate America by G.I. Jobs® for championing the recruitment, hiring, retention and career advancement of US military veterans in corporate America. Prior to joining Combined Insurance, William worked for a US senator. He served in multiple roles including Veterans Caseworker, Special Assistant, and Director of Veterans Outreach. William served five years active duty in the US Army. William has a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal & Social Justice from Lewis University in Illinois.

Christina Payne

Christina is the Chief People Officer at Precise Systems. She is responsible for leading the human resources, talent acquisition, diversity and inclusion, cultural development, employee education, workplace safety and development, compensation and benefits, and employee relations strategies. She also leads aspects of corporate relations, including Community and Employee Engagement, Export Compliance, Business Insurance, Security and Facilities. As a member of the executive team, Payne contributes directly to the organization’s long and short-term strategic objectives while maximizing organizational effectiveness. She oversees company programs and initiatives that enhance the employee experience and partners with leaders across the organization. Christina holds a Bachelor of Science from Towson University and a Master of Science in Management with a focus in Human Resources from the University of Maryland University College. She holds a Society of Human Resources Management certifications as a Certified Professional (SHRM-CP), Senior Human Resource Leadership (SHRL), and Professional of Human Resources (PHR). She is a 2015 graduate of Leadership Southern Maryland.

Clayton Still

Clayton Still is a U.S. Army veteran and the Vice President of Military Affairs at Power Home Remodeling (“Power”) — the nation’s largest exterior home remodeler and top workplace recognized by Fortune, Inc., Military Times, and more. In tandem with fellow Vice President of Military Affairs, James Boscia, the pair oversee the growth and development of Power’s veteran programming. As Vice President, Clayton is responsible for Power’s military recruitment efforts, which includes their DoD Skillbridge fellowship program, internal military recruitment team, and external hiring partners.
