SUPPORT FOR VETERANS AND MILITARY-CONNECTED STUDENTS
✔ Dedicated Veteran Support Center – The Travis W. Atkins Veteran Support Center provides a dedicated space on campus where students can study, connect, access resources, and build community.
✔ VA Education Benefits Support – Dedicated School Certifying Officials assist students utilizing the Post-9/11 GI Bill®, Veteran Readiness and Employment (VR&E), Survivors’ and Dependents’ Educational Assistance (DEA), and other VA education benefits.
✔ Priority Registration – Eligible veterans and students utilizing VA education benefits receive priority registration, helping them build schedules that support academic progress and maximize their benefits.
✔ Embedded Counseling Support – The Veteran Support Center partners with Counseling and Psychological Services to provide dedicated mental health support within the Center, reducing barriers and connecting students with care in a familiar environment.
✔ Veteran-to-Veteran Tutoring – Veterans and military-connected students can receive academic support from fellow students who understand both the academic environment and military-connected experience.
✔ Community and Connection – Outdoor recreation, social events, veteran orientation, appreciation events, and other programming help students build relationships and find community at MSU.
✔ Recognition and Tradition – MSU honors its military-connected community through Veterans Day programming, the Veterans Appreciation Banquet, Military Appreciation Football Game, Veterans Park, graduation recognition, and other campus traditions.
