VA’s Office of Information and Technology Seeking to Hire Veterans as IT Professionals

IT Professionals

VA is inviting Veterans to join its Office of Information and Technology (OIT) as IT professionals who can help modernize and enhance service delivery for all Veterans. IT professionals are key to improving the Veteran experience. Former service members can use their passion for innovation to support the Veteran community through a purpose-driven career in information technology.

VA is eager to hire Veterans or beneficiaries with experience in systems development, networking, cyber security, cloud infrastructure and end-user services to further OIT’s digital transformation. You can help us create a seamless, unified digital experience for the large Veteran community that VA serves.

To VA Chief Information Officer Kurt DelBene, many of those seeking an IT professional career with OIT do so out of a sense of service to a greater cause, a special quality that the private sector can’t compete with in the same way. OIT seeks to solve problems that matter to Veteran outcomes on a scale of size and complexity that is hard to find elsewhere. VA is committed to modernizing systems and using innovative technology to better serve Veterans and deliver services and benefits.

“We’re at the heart of delivering a quality health care and benefits experience to Veterans,” DelBene said.

Many Veterans currently work in OIT

Many Veterans and their family members are currently working in VA’s Office of Information and Technology. So other Veterans will fit right in. OIT is proud of its workforce, which takes its noble mission personally.

OIT is committed to equal employment opportunities and maintains a workplace free of unlawful discrimination, harassment and retaliation. OIT also creates an environment that promotes equity, diversity and inclusion.
