School InformationWith a long-standing emphasis on diversity, public service and innovative programs, and a mid-city campus featuring a world-renowned Art Deco landmark, Southwestern Law School reflects the vibrancy of Los Angeles and provides an ideal setting for law study. Founded more than 100 years ago as an independent, nonprofit, nonsectarian institution, Southwestern is fully approved by the ABA. We have a reputation for graduating lawyers who are well-rounded, entrepreneurial and prepared for practice. We have strong ties to the legal, business and civic sectors, and our Biederman Entertainment and Media Law Institute is closely linked to the entertainment industry.
Why They Value VeteransSouthwestern Law School is proud to participate in the Veteran Affairs' Yellow Ribbon program and agrees to contribute $10,000 per year to eligible veterans pursuing their J.D. degree (to a maximum of 10 veterans per academic year). Active military service members can enroll in our part-time programs, day or evening, to pursue a law degree while still serving. The Army Judge Advocate General Corp recruits on our campus. Our military/veteran students appreciate the discipline and efficiency of our 2-year law program called SCALE. Southwestern also has a vibrant Armed Forces Law Society student group.
